Hakata Tenjin Shinjuku 博多天神 新宿東口店
Typical Hakata-style Ramen includes pork bone soup (tonkotsu Ramen) with its characteristic fine, compact, and slightly hard noodles. The shop is located very close to the west exit of Shinjuku Gyoen Park. The restaurant assures customers of excellent value for only ¥500. It is a place with the taste of the Showa era (1950s). It is frequented by typical “salary men” (Japanese office workers) until 3 in the morning... strong> (except holidays). The service is quick and the restaurant is quite large for Tokyo’s standards. It allows groups of four or five people, and groups usually don’t have to wait. As in Hakata, do not forget to order a second portion of noodles for free if you’re still hungry: “KAEDAMA KUDASAI.”
