Makoto is that kind of Izakaya frequented by locals. Small and excellent for interacting with locals as some tables are shared with other customers. This restaurant specializes in roasted mackerel in a traditional style. Thicker than normal, to the point of salt and with crispy skin. The price is a little higher than in other places, but it is really worth it. In the evening they offer a wider variety of dishes, but we recommend going at noon just to savor the specialty. There are usually long l ... ines, although the rotation is quite fast. Located near the Suikyo Tenmangu Shrine. NOTE: Even though there is a sign that points to an "English Menu", there's actually not a translated menu in English but for lunch there is only one lunch meal with mackerel as the main dish and combined with rice, miso soup, tofu and japanese pickles. During dinner time the menu is only in Japanese. Japan Gourmet Pass recommends Makoto for lunch time.
