If you are near the Sumo stadium or the Edo museum in Ryogoku, then Hasegawa is the best choice for Tonkatsu a "deep-fried pork cutlet." The restaurant only uses the best quality ingredients, and the pork is a Japanese well-known brand called Hiraboku Sangenton from Yamagata, which is tender, juicy, and full of taste. At Hasegawa, they have many menu sets and Tonkatsu variations. If you are new to Tonkatsu, we recommend to you the regular pork loin cutlet. They make their own panko breadcrumbs i ... n-house. This ensures that your Tonkatsu is crispy but never oily. Hasegawa has been included in the 2018 Michelin guide, but nothing has changed since then (fortunately). It is a great restaurant to enjoy the best Tonkatsu in Ryogoku. NOTE: Expect a 20 minute queue during lunchtime. But it is well worth your patience.
