Kakiya 牡蠣屋
Kakiya is a fantastic restaurant specializing in oysters, a must-visit if you're a fan of this delicacy. The Hiroshima Bay accounts for 60% of Japan's oyster production. The waters of the Ota River flow into the bay in an area with significant tidal flooding, creating ideal conditions for their cultivation. Hiroshima oysters have distinctive black wavy shells and a creamy, crisp flesh. At Kakiya, you can savor the finest local oysters in various forms: grilled, fried, battered, boiled, marina ... ted, sautéed, and, of course, raw. We highlight the Olive Oysters (seasoned with olive oil), oysters cooked on a large grill at the entrance, and especially in winter, the prime season for these mollusks, raw oysters. The minimum order is just one oyster, and the prices are very reasonable, so don't miss out on this treat. They also offer takeout and outdoor seating. It's conveniently located near major tourist spots in Miyajima such as the Itsukushima Shrine or Toyokuni Shrine
