Ogawa おがわ
This famous soba restaurant is located in an old machiya (typical Kyoto house) in a quiet neighborhood. It opened in 2003, after the chef trained in Daruma (Toyama), one of the most recognized Soba restaurants in Japan. They offer a simple but delicious menu: soba cold or hot. They offer basic Oroshi (with grated radish), Tororo (grated yam), Kamo (Duck), and Notsu (variety of seasonal vegetables). The soba is full-bodied and has nice texture. They are very busy, especially on the weekends. Take ... your time. They may suddenly close if the stock is sold out.
