The restaurant is run like a little family shop. The chef comes to bring your dish sometimes. Tompachitei has been consistently considered one of the best Tonkatsu, not only in Tokyo, but Japan. Their tender deep-fried pork cutlet is cooked to perfection. For the last few years, the shop has increased in popularity due their inclusion in the Michelin guide. But nothing has changed in the shop. It still has the same local atmosphere. It seems like you are eating at someone’s house. They are ope ... n only during lunchtime, and there are queues outside waiting for one of their famous Tonkatsu set masterpieces. The wait is well worth it. Be aware that sometimes they run out of stock before closing time. When this happens, they just close the shop earlier. The location is a bit challenging because the shop is on the back of the main street. But persevere and you will be rewarded with a top-notch Tonkatsu experience!
