Ohara 懐石 大原
Ohara is a small family restaurant in Kaiseki, run by chef Ohara and his wife, listed in the famous Michelin guide. Basically their tasting menus revolve around seasonal fish, bought daily at the new Toyosu Wholesale Market. Usually it starts with a transparent soup, assortment of colorful cold dishes, sashimi, boiled fish, grilled with shitake and sudachi juice ... etc. Ohara learned the trade in a prestigious restaurant in Mejiro, paying close attention to the seasonal flavor and beauty of the ... dishes, which is indispensable in the kaiseki speciality. The prices are much more reasonable than restaurants of this type, there is no a la carte food, only 7000 yen tasting menu at noon and 10,000 at night. It is advisable to book at least 3 weeks in advance. Located on the second floor, in the traditional Arakicho district, with strong local flavor, full of excellent little bars and restaurants, east of Shinjuku, near Yotsuya. Note: there is a 10% service charge. It can be opened outside of the specified days if there are reservations of more than 4 people.
